Ashgrove Allotment Association
Ninety plots, one shared patch of Sheffield, growing together since day one.
The shared tool library
Every plot-holder has access to a library of shared tools — forks, spades, hoes, hand tools — so you don't need to buy everything new. Just book what you need and bring it back when you're done.
Spring seed swap
Every April we gather to swap seeds, cuttings and spare seedlings. It's how Ashgrove shares what grows well here, learns from each other, and keeps costs down for everyone.
Your own plot
Ninety plots in total, ranging from full-size beds to smaller starter patches. Whether you've been growing for thirty years or you're picking up a trowel for the first time, there's space for you here.
Get stuck in
Ashgrove runs on volunteers. Every month we hold work days where members and volunteers come together to look after the shared spaces — the paths, the communal areas, the tool store and the compost bays.
First Sunday of the month — work day from 10am.
No experience needed. Come as you are. We'll put you with someone who knows the ropes.
Tea and biscuits provided. Everyone brings a hand, nobody works alone.
Want a plot?
Demand for Ashgrove's ninety plots is steady, so we manage allocation through a waiting list. It usually takes a few months to come to the top, but we'll be in touch when a plot becomes available.
